Composing Music with AnsRtist
Before entering the music mode, place cursor on the line
above the line you want the music string to appear on if the screen
is viewed without a music capable terminal program, offline reader,
or ansi viewing program, or in DOS.
Hold ALT and press 6, then 7, then 8 to enter the music
composing mode. The instructions on editing and entering notes
and duration, etc. will be on the screen.
The music strings pretty much follow the format from BASIC,
with ESC[ before it and CONTROL-N at the end of each string.
Use an ansi viewing program, such as Smile, SmileQ, or
AnsiPlay to view the ansi and listen to the music.
The music editor is not fully developed. If anything does
not look right, exiting the music mode and then re-entering it
should correct any problem.
Pressing RETURN will write the string to disk and display
the last string written to disk so that it can be seen while
writing the next string.
Flats and Sharps must be requested before the note is
entered so the composer will know what note to sound when the
letter is entered. The + key will request a sharp even if
the shift key is not pressed. The shift key must be pressed
to request the # symbol. The - key requests a flat.
The duration default is entered unless it is changed, as
the Octave default is assumed unless changed. Pressing the SPACE
bar will play the entire string being worked on.
Do NOT place any ansi screens containing music strings
in any ansi editor!!!!
This program writes ansi files with a line length less
than 80 characters so the files containing music strings can
be loaded into a TEXT editor for editing.
